Today is Earth Day – focus on protection of the environment

It is Earth Day 2016 today.

Each year, more than one billion people across the world mark the event by showing support for environmental protection. Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22, aims to encourage people across the world to be more environmentally friendly.

In 1970, the year of our first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy toward environmental issues.

It is expected that 7.8 billion trees will be planted within the next five years time starting from today.
