Music legend ‘Prince’dies at 57

The hugely popular, acclaimed and influential musician Prince has died at
his home in Minnesota at the age of 57.Police were summoned to his Paisley Park estate early on Thursday and found his body in a lift. An investigation has been opened.
Prince Rogers Nelson was born in 1985 and was known as Prince, once he took the music world by a psychedelic storm.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Prince developed an early curiosity in music that drove him to wirting his 1st song when he was 7, and when he was 19 he had recorded several unsuccessful demo tapes which led to the release of his debut album ‘For You’
His 1979 album Prince went platinum due to the success of the singles “Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?” and “I Wanna Be Your Lover”. His next three records—Dirty Mind (1980), Controversy (1981), and 1999 (1982) continued his success
In 1984, he began referring to his backup band as ‘The Revolution and released ‘Purple Rain which served as the soundtrack to his film debut with the same name. Prince was also known for his showmanship, where he played with gender and racial stereotypes accompanied with a extravagant sense of style
