Sri Lanka‘s mainstay in their batting line-up Kumar
Sangakkara now has the most number of centuries by a Sri Lankan batsman with 34 hundreds to his name. He essayed that hundred against Bangladesh at Chittagong in the second Test.
He went past his teammate Mahela Jayawardene who was on 33 hundreds. He is now fifth on the list of most number of hundreds in Tests behind Sachin Tendulkar, Jacques Kallis, Ricky Ponting and Rahul Dravid. He is on par with Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar who made 34 hundreds.
Sangakkara made his debut back in 2000. He has played 121 Tests for his country and since his debut has 10, 727 runs next to his name in Tests.
