Mahela goes down in history as he exceeds 11000 test runs

Former captain, Mahela Jayawardene has entered history as

the first Sri Lankan cricketer to exceed 11,000 test runs.

Jayawardene set this record while he was playing in the second innings of the third and final test match against Pakistan in Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Mahela Jayawardene is thus ranked eighth in the world to exceed 11,000 test runs.
